About Aaron Fischer

As director of editorial operations for TechWeb, Aaron Fischer headed up production, design, development, and implementation. He guided TechWeb and Planet IT (an online community for IT professionals) through major redesigns, honing his project management skills on these large-scale projects.

Fischer championed usability testing as part of the design process and was responsible for rebuilding and upgrading the TechWeb search engine. He revamped the site's e-mail newsletters, introducing processes to track subscriber activity and deliver meaningful statistics. He also headed up TechWeb's relaunch as a portal to CMP's business technology publications.

During his tenure as executive editor of Data Communications, Fischer edited virtually all the major stories for a decade, helping create a highly readable style that made it easy to understand complex products and technologies. He also managed two redesigns, launched and maintained the magazine's Web site, and was responsible for all the interactive components of the Telecom 99 project.

Fischer holds an MFA in writing from Columbia University.
